Martin Velíšek (*1968, Athens), is a Czech painter who is devoted to painting, drawing, graphics and art theory. He studied at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University and at the Academy of Fine Arts in the studios of Jitka Svobodová, Zdeněk Beran, Bedřich Dlouhý and finally in the studio of Miloš Šejn. He has won several domestic and foreign awards for his work.

In his research activities he deals primarily with the context of art. He wrote the book History of Lemon and together with philosopher Miroslav Petříček also the book Views (which form paintings). He is a professor at Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem, lives and creates in Prague.

Velíšek is primarily a painter, but his work creates and develops a thought concept. The exhibition will present the part of Velíšek's work, in which he reflects the existing historical works and how he is his postmodern painter, draws on the whole range of their historical concepts and from the possibility of their interpretation and interpretation.
