Carolina Rossi

Karolína Rossi (1983) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague in the studio of Vladimír Kokolia. She also spent semester at Ecole Superieure des Beaux Arts in Aix en Provence in France. He works mainly in the medium of painting and watercolor collage, with overlaps into spatial installations. She presented her work in a number of independent galleries and exhibition institutions around the Czech Republic and abroad, for example in the Nevan CONTEMPO Gallery, the Berlin Model, the Gallery of Modern Art in Roudnice nad Labem, MeetFactory, or Swimmingpool Gallery in Sofia, Bulgaria.

In her painting, Carolina Rossi has long been exploring the principles and forms of life, but also what is behind them. The last cycle of paintings is inspired by the ideas of sufism, Islamic mysticism. It is about vibrations of thoughts and souls that can reach much further than the words pronounced. The imaginary "bubbles" that we create with our thoughts, feelings, or desires of our souls have their own colors, shapes and sounds. Together with the vibrations of other beings and forms, they shape our universe - which we can have a little different. Each of Rossi's paintings is such a universe in a small, cluster of expressing the words. They are not only abstractions of shapes and forms. He speaks with his own multilayered message, in addition to visual and perhaps even sound and smell.
