About the work

Alena Anderlová for 100 pcs

During Alena Anderlová’s residency at the ESAC studios, several young bears were brought to the castle grounds, which subsequently became the inspiration for her paintings. In them, the bear is not depicted as a dangerous predator, but as a domesticated creature whose presence brings pleasure to humans. This series was also inspired by the book The Bear: History of a Fallen Kingby Michel Pastoureau.
