About the work

Alena Anderlová for 100 pcs

The painting Jugglingwas exhibited in 2020 at a solo exhibition by Alena Anderlová at the Egon Schiele Art Centrum, inspired by Český Krumlov and its surroundings. During her residency at the ESAC studios, several young bears were brought to the castle grounds, which subsequently became the inspiration for several of her paintings. In them, the bear does not appear as a dangerous predator, but as a domesticated creature whose presence brings pleasure to humans. This series was also inspired by the book The Bear: History of a Fallen Kingby Michel Pastoureau.
