About the work

Boris Németh for 100pcs

Levice is part of the Slovakia – I'm Lovin' It series, on which Boris Németh has been working for over twenty years. He borrowed the title from McDonald's to portray a country that, after 1989, became both a customer and a commodity at the same time. The Slovak National Gallery also owns photographs from this series. Curator Václav Macek wrote that, rather than offering a clear answer, they present a mosaic of contradictions. This October, Levice will be displayed at the 123rd Salon d'Automne at the Place de la Concorde in Paris.
