Denisa Štefanigová is an exceptional painter of the incoming generation. Its dynamic, colorful canvases play networks of human and inhuman entities, real and mythical animals, mythical beings and demons. Everything is intertwined in the name of great emotions, be it love and desire or sadness and mourning. Everything is part of everything, nature blends with (our) bodies. If we care for one of this, or we are destroying it, it inevitably flourishes, or the other is declining. We cannot drink polluted water and think that we will remain a vulnerable ourselves. We cannot destroy the soil on whose fruits we are dependent. And yet we are still doing it. We forget that we are the water, we are the soil.
Denisa Štefanigová (*1995) graduated in the studio of Painting at the Faculty of Arts and then at the Academy of Arts in Estonia. He has had a number of internships and residences, such as Bilbau, Stuttgart or Budapest. In 2021, among the 15 finalists of the Young Painter Prize for the Baltic countries. In addition to the Czech Republic, it also exhibited in Lithuania, Estonia, Spain and Germany. It focuses primarily on painting, but also works with sound, textiles, video, collages.

Denisa Štefanigová for 100pcs
The painting called Tenderness was created as part of a large series immediately capturing the stream of the author's thoughts, emotions and experiences. It combines a personal level and a more general theme of blending people and water - because our own bodies are mainly made up of water, as well as water permeates the bodies of animals and plants, it is essential, whether it is pure, or full of hormones, pesticides and all possible waste. It is precisely the awareness of this connection that gives us a chance to turn from pollution to care - about ourselves and its surroundings. At the same time, the painting personifies the topic (in) the possibilities of partnership, distance relationship, a desire that takes place somewhere on the border of the virtual and real world.
