About the work

Federico Díaz for 100 pcs

The pair of works selected for the 100ks platform is part of the long-term project Big Light (2015–2019), which examines how augmented and virtual reality reshape human identity, perception, and social structures. The project builds a bridge between the mystical practices of the past and contemporary digital technologies. Here, technology is not intended to be a tool that threatens humanity, but rather a means for collaboration, emancipation, and the sharing of knowledge. The hand is a symbol of the touch between two worlds—it does not have to signify a loss of physicality due to technology, but rather a portal to other dimensions where both the physical and the virtual have their own unmistakable role.
