Profile

Jan Gemrot

Působivé, na realistickém výrazu založené, pevně malířsky uchopené obrazy Jana Gemrota, jednoho z hlavních zástupců současné středoevropské malby, kladou nosné otázky, týkající se dnešního světa. Propojují osobní vize vzniku a zániku lidské kultury, počátku a konce přírody, starověkého umění a nejnovější techniky.

About the work

Jan Gemrot for 100pcs

"The whole cycle of exploding sculptures originally originated on the basis of an event, when during the First World War, artillery grenades hit the museum with the outlogs of the sculptures of Antonio Canovy. I was fascinated by the moment of the demise of the work of art. I visually came out of it.

I began to paint it in 2019, when our world began to change dramatically. We live at the turn of the turn and these ancient sculptures in the explosion are a symbol of the new order for me. Something old is transformed, maybe it disappears - and all of this is born something new that we do not know yet. ”
