Kateřina Ondrušková (born 1991), graduated in 2013-2019 AVU in Prague (painting studio prof. Michael Rittstein, prof. Jiří Sopek, Robert Šalandy and Josef Bolf). Work: Dracena, 2016, canvas oil, 180 × 160 cm

Kateřina Ondrušková, a recent graduate of Prague's AVU, is profiled as a significant spontaneous and essential painter. The theme sources for their paintings are found in natural frames (eg gardens) and natural processes (growth, inflorescence, maturation). Her painting manuscript accepts this vitality and becomes her parallel expression. The paintings of Kateřina Ondrušková are characterized by pure, relaxed color scheme, expressive manuscript and reduction of the subject to the character or sign structure. But it is primarily the very joy of painting, the feeling that it is possible to see the movement of emotions visually and at the same time and to hold it outside the extinguishing time, what makes the author's work so vital. Draccena, on the other hand, reflects the theme of homemade room flowers as an artificial situation raising many questions about the decorative role of flowers in our homes.
