Lukáš Karbus has been discovered by his unique work, a kind of revelation. He deliberately lives outside all cultural events in the village of Genoa in northern Bohemia, surrounded by a generous landscape and his own garden, which he cares every day. Although Luke's paintings respond to modernist aesthetics of simple shapes and pure forms, they are led primarily by the author's ability to literally drain into nature and landscape. Perhaps that is why it is such a convenient technique of watercolor, where fine colors are drunk into paper. Lukáš Karbus led her to perfection, almost incredible - he works on the largest formats that this technique allows at all (as large as the table on which the paper lies so that the author can reach the middle of the image). Laying of colors and tones gives its parts a fractal sense of detail and depth.

Lukáš Karbus (1981) completed the studio of painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno in Brno. He teaches painting at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Kamenický Šenov. He exhibits in the Czech Republic and abroad, his works were presented, for example, in the National Gallery Prague, the Center for Contemporary Art Futura, or in Kunsthalle im Lipsiusbau, Dresden. His work is also part of a number of important local and foreign collections, such as the Prague National Gallery, Leinemann Foundation (Berlin, Hamburg) or Collection Dorothea Zwirner (Berlin). In 2015 he was the finalist of the prestigious Jindřich Chalupecký Prize.

Lukáš carbus for 100pcs

The work selected for the 100pcs platform is part of the latest series, which was created for Karbus's current exhibition in Prague's Polansky Gallery called Growth Direction (Garden Year). The image also offers insight into Lukáš's typical depiction of nature, but also in the reflecting abstract composition. Both at the top and below, the well -known saying from the emerald board. The universe is imprinted in us and we turn into it again. Both counterparts - seemingly randomly spread trees in the landscape and a geometric grid reminiscent of the church stained glass, work on the same principles. Among them is the blue sky with a beam of light, outdoor (or indoor?) Temple. There's really everything.

"I paint watercolors that are glued on canvas, allowing me to increase the formats a bit. Generally, it can be said that it is based on landscapes that are abstracted in some case. This last picture is such a return from full abstractions to the landscape.
