Pet II

Michal Trpák creates the "Velké Mazlíky" (Big Cuddlers) each time with a different skin, made of mosaic, glass, or polished marble. He casts these small ones from tiny glass beads in resin, so the color ratio is different for every piece. No two are the same. A limited edition of only 20 pieces.

Profile

About the work

Michal Trpák for 100 pcs

The "Mazlíci" (Pets) are inspired by the world of bacteria and microorganisms. I enjoy enlarging universes that are otherwise invisible to us to our scale, so that we can see them and touch them. And while doing so, to reflect on the fact that just because we cannot see something, it does not mean it does not exist. That universe can be just as diverse as ours, sometimes perhaps even more so.

I always make the large Mazlíci with a different skin, a different texture: mosaic, glass, stone, polished marble. For the small ones, I thought about how to give them a similar material vividness. I used tiny glass beads saturated with resin and cast into a mold. The casting is then sandblasted, polished, and varnished. Thanks to this, every Mazlík is an original, because the ratio of beads and colors is a little different each time.

How edition numbering and pre-sales work

Every edition has a fixed size. Every object carries an engraved edition number and comes with a certificate in which the artist fills in the number and signs by hand. During a pre-sale you choose your number; after the pre-sale ends, numbers are assigned in order of purchase. Details are on the Edition sizes page.
