Peter Cvik (1985, Bratislava) is a prominent figure in contemporary Slovak painting. He graduated from the University of Arts in Bratislava, where led by prof. Ivana Csudaie won the master's and doctoral title in the painting studio.

His work moves on the border between abstraction and figuration, based on personal visual memory, urban landscape and architecture. It is typical for his work with layering of colors and shapes, which create a spatial painting composition with a distinctive atmosphere. Images often evoke feelings of disorientation, melancholy and inner movement, thereby inviting the viewer to introspective reading.

During his career, he participated in a number of exhibitions at home and abroad, including galleries in Amsterdam, Paris, New York, Belgrade or Moscow. He graduated from residential stays in Leipzig, Paris, Jerusalem or Olomouc. In 2022 he organized a large independent exhibition at the Zoya Private Museum in Modre and a year later he exhibited in Amsterdam under the name You Are The Axis of Time. In 2025 he introduced the exhibition Architecture of Knowledge in Steinhauser Gallery in Bratislava. His works are represented in the collections of Strabag ArtCollection, Robert Runták Collection and Benetton Collection.

His work addresses the audience with his ability to connect personal memories with universal themes, creating a deep dialogue between art and the audience. Follow him on Instagram.

Peter exercise for 100pcs

The Black Swan image was created as part of the Architecture of Knowledge series and was exhibited at my latest solo exhibition in the Steinhauser Gallery in Bratislava. The image themes the processing of unpredictable events, similar to the book Nassima Taleb. But I believe that everyone will find their own story.
