Rita Koszorus (b.

In the past, Rita was intrigued by experimenting when she used a performative moment and an element of chance in her painting works (for example, the holes after the curator shooting in her image). As part of its current art program, it examines collage as a technique in painting, paper and space, and is interested in as a wider principle of selecting, which is applied in decision -making, collecting information or recollection. It uses the principle of eye deception - illusively collapses and composes from fragments imitating various overrunted materials. But everything happens only in two -dimensional painted images, which can then be played into locally specific painting installations.

Rita Koszorus is a young painter with an international overlap (Hungary, Germany) is a laureate of a major Slovak award of the painting of the year 2021 - 1 place and finalist of this competition also in 2020, 2019 and 2015.

The work I think is in love with the visual legacy, "full of romantic desire for the water, specifically the ocean. It captures the atmosphere of variability, but at the same time it attracts memories to draw the power for tomorrow." It is a painting game with the character of surfaces, layering, optical illusion and with the attention of the viewer. The image is part of the developed series, in which the author asks questions about origin, memory, nostalgia or anthropocene. It also examines the concept and phenomenon of the “Home”, from a specific personal perspective of contemporary artist - nomads.

Rita Koszorus for 100pcs

I primarily focus on identity topics, searching for home and thematizing water as a motive and a symbol of something that gives me strength, but at the same time traumatizes me. It is also a symbol of our being, we could not live without water, and has consequences for the current climate crisis. From a formal point of view, I start from the avant-garde and I was also influenced by the structures and forms of Neo-Avant-garde of the 20th century.

I think of you is part of a larger whole, which I started in 2021 in the Portuguese port, where I was on the residence and created a very intimate relationship with the ocean. Since then, I have been creating a kind of dialogue between water and me, which at the same time symbolizes the search for identity and searching for being as a person, an individual or as an authors or nomads.
