Jana Babincová

Jana Babincová (1977) graduated from the Painting Atelier III. Doc. MgA. Petra Kvíčala at Brno Fava, the supervisor of her diploma thesis was Jiří Valoch. She presented her works in a number of Czech independent galleries and institutions, for example in the Prague Gallery NTK or MeetFactoy, the Emil Filla Gallery in Ústí nad Labem, the Gallery of the City of Pilsen, the Gallery at the White Unicorn in Klatovy, but also in the foreign context, for example, the US or the Netherlands. Her works are represented, for example, in the collection of Marek or the collection of Jiří Valoch within the National Gallery Prague.

Jana Babincová has been working with the principle of coding for many years. Its paintings build and forms of geometric abstraction with sharp lines and edges. On the contrary, the encoded contents themselves are mostly very personal and emotional: from the text of prayer in five languages to a letter to the unborn daughter to tones of favorite songs. In most paintings coding texts, Babincová works with intuitive possibilities of decoding images, it is not a precise deciphering of the individual contents of the audience.
