Jindřich Chalupecký Award

1 edition on 100pcs1 exhibition

Petr Kvíčala (*1960) graduated from the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Brno, but his subsequent studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague were prevented by the regime for ideological reasons. He taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno, where he long led the Painting Studio 3, and is now a professor at the Department of Traditional Media and a member of the branch and artistic board. He has presented his work in leading Czech art institutions and galleries, as well as extensively abroad – for example, in Mallorca, Munich, Berlin, Budapest, and Poitiers. He is the recipient of the Jindřich Chalupecký Honorary Award from 1991. In 2006, he won the Grand Prix for one of his architectural interventions. His works are represented in public and private collections.
