Profile

Helen Tóth

Slovenská malířka Helen Tóth patří k výrazným tvářím současné malby. Svůj ateliér má v bratislavském kulturním centru Nová Cvernovka, kde rozvíjí osobitý vizuální jazyk založený na hlubokém zájmu o vnitřní život přírody. Vystudovala Vysokou školu výtvarných umění v Bratislavě v ateliérech prof. Ivana Csudaie a prof. Daniela Fischera.

Její díla v médiu olejomalby přitahují pozornost schopností zachytit tichou monumentalitu a křehkou rovnováhu lesa.

Helen Tóth vnímá krajinu spíše skrze filozofickou rovinu než jako klasický námět. Její díla, v nichž záměrně chybí lidská postava, vytvářejí svobodný prostor pro ticho a regeneraci. Svojí tvorbou otevírá důležité otázky o našem vztahu k prostředí a schopnosti přírody přetrvat ve své původní síle.

About the work

Helen Tóth for 100 pcs

The work is based on the motif of the Tatra forest, which in reality is often fragmented and disturbed by insensitive human intervention, particularly large-scale logging. In the painting, however, individual tree fragments reconnect into a new, imaginary structure: the forest is symbolically "defragmented" here. Branches, trunks, and layers intertwine, creating a space where scattered parts of the landscape meet once again. The painting thus points to two opposing moments: the fragility of an ecosystem that can be quickly disrupted by human activity, but also the forest’s ability to regenerate if allowed to exist without interference. Non-intervention areas demonstrate that nature possesses its own intelligence and a timeframe in which it can restore its balance. The painting is therefore both a reflection on loss and hope, an attempt to imagine a forest that, after being disturbed, reassembles into a living whole.
