Profile

Marek Ormandík

Marek Ormandík (*1968)
Marek Ormandík patří k nejvýraznějším a mezinárodně nejúspěšnějším slovenským malířům své generace. Vystudoval VŠVU v Bratislavě a od 90. let si vybudoval okamžitě rozpoznatelný rukopis - gestickou expresi, hrubé tahy štětce a výraznou obrysovou linku.

Vystavoval samostatně v Paříži, Záhřebu, Vídni i v dalších evropských metropolích.

Vyšly o něm čtyři monografie, naposledy výpravná publikace Ormandík (Slovart, 2019).Mezi jeho nejvýznamnější ocenění patří Krištáľové krídlo (2010), Cena Martina Benku (2008), Meulensteen Art Award (2007) a Premio internazionale d'arte San Crispino v Itálii (2009).

Žije a tvoří v Bratislavě.

About the work

Marek Ormandik for 100 pcs

"Little Devil (or She-Devil) is a painting from a series of portraits of "almost-humans". I like imperfections, slight or greater deviations from the standard.
Therefore, the subjects of my paintings are often angels, centaurs, satyrs, the Minotaur, or the aforementioned devils. They are probably the closest to me. The devil only knows why."
