Marek Ormandík (*1968)
Marek Ormandík patří k nejvýraznějším a mezinárodně nejúspěšnějším slovenským malířům své generace. Vystudoval VŠVU v Bratislavě a od 90. let si vybudoval okamžitě rozpoznatelný rukopis - gestickou expresi, hrubé tahy štětce a výraznou obrysovou linku. Vrací se k velkým tématům, biblickým a mytologickým motivům, ale přepracovává je s ironií a nadsázkou.


Vystavoval samostatně v Paříži, Záhřebu, Vídni i v dalších evropských metropolích. Doma jsou jeho výstavy spojené s nejvýznamnějšími institucemi - opakovaně vystavoval v Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum, ve Slovenském národním muzeu i v ZOYA Museum.

Vyšly o něm čtyři monografie, naposledy výpravná publikace Ormandík (Slovart, 2019).Mezi jeho nejvýznamnější ocenění patří Krištáľové krídlo (2010), Cena Martina Benku (2008), Meulensteen Art Award (2007) a Premio internazionale d'arte San Crispino v Itálii (2009).

Jako ilustrátor dlouhodobě spolupracoval s Milanem Lasicou, Tomášem Janovicem či Pavlem Vilikovským, ilustroval také Danteho Peklo a verše Omara Chajjáma. Žije a tvoří v Bratislavě.

"Uncle Pajko (with a horse) comes from the large Pajko series of nearly monochrome, somewhat grotesque half-figures. Each of them is alone. Abandoned. This bluish person, however, is an exception. In their hand, they clutch an animal. A blue Chagall-esque horse. After all, a horse in the hand is better than a cow on the roof."

Prints in stock ship unframed within 2 business days and framed within 3 business days. Prints signed to order ship in about 2 weeks. Framed prints travel in protective packaging, unframed prints in a sturdy tube and an extra box. Shipping is calculated at checkout by country.
