Matěj Lipavský (b. Work: boiling chemistry of the city sky, 2022, canvas oil, 140 × 135 cm

For Matěj Lipavský, it is a great challenge through authentic situations and moments to capture the extinguishing time, whether in the city or in the wild. While time in nature is captured with all attention in relation to cyclic changes of the seasons, climate and weather, cities live their own lives of "second nature", ie civilization. Natural frameworks are an authentic laboratory of light, colors, temperatures, humidity, etc. The image of the boiling chemistry of the city sky refers rather to the urban landscape, whose civilization face is manifested mainly at night, and the ubiquitous artificial light.
