Matěj Lipavský (b. Work: Main railway station, 2022, combined technique on canvas, 85 × 70 cm

For Matěj Lipavský, it is a great challenge through authentic situations and moments to capture the extinguishing time, whether in the city or in the wild. While time in nature is captured with all attention in relation to cyclic changes of the seasons, climate and weather, cities live their own lives of "second nature", ie civilization. The seemingly banal scenes of everyday life draw the viewer into the gears of civilization mechanisms and systems that, on the one hand, make it easier for human life. These works include the image of the main railway station, which indicates one of the form of organized human mobility.

Matěj Lipavský for 100pcs

I am interested in functional, or rather accurate poetry of everyday life. In the widest sense, one could say that I am not interested in tense, emergency situations. I'm just interested in the world we live in. This is a completely universal thing that sucks naturally.

It is such a transit image, a snapshot in the brutalist hall of the main station, which is great because of its red ceilings (I hope it will not cancel them…). The motive was the color that makes it a ghostly thing.
