In his work, the author examines the relationship between the photographic starting point of the chosen theme and its flip into a living painting interpretation. Many everyday themes from various sources (magazine, family archive, internet), including the "bath", are removed from an anonymous visual erar, static record, dead memory and revived by the dynamics of painting. The author does not renounce the passion, with which it applies the color mass on the canvas and models the paradoxical situation: stopped movement. A stopped movement that depicts the human body in action. As it moves when it responds to the water element, in which it is joyfully.
In addition to the AVU, Pavel Šmíd also educated in the UK and co -founded the legendary Ostrava art group of nature. He has been exhibiting in the key Czech galleries for over 30 years and his works are represented in the collections of the National Gallery of Prague and private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad.

I deal with a lot of past, and as I needed to see the time process on the painting, I tried to approach the painting mass and the painting gesture otherwise. I started using a lot of structure, layers. Something that would allow the viewer to feel time in the picture and to feel the presence of a painter who left the gesture a moment ago.
This image is not from the cycle you do not enter the same river. I had an exhibition in Poděbrady and for the spa town I made a cycle of figures that move in the water. The water allowed me to enter the time thinking again - the water is a stream, wash, soothes, it is a light that can be layered in color. It can be drowned and finding time.
