David Černý

David Černý graduated from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague. He also completed a residency program at PS1 in New York and the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program in the same city. He is a laureate of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award, a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, and an award at the Kortrijk Biennial. In 2001, he founded the Prague center for contemporary art, MeetFactory. He is also the founder of the architectural studio Black n’Arch. He has presented his work in public spaces both in the Czech Republic and abroad, as well as at international exhibitions and showcases such as the Dutch Twente Biennale, the Australian Sculpture by the Sea, and the São Paulo International Biennial.
