Profile

Ján Vasilko

Ján Vasilko (nar. 1979) absolvoval v l. 1999 - 2005 na Fakultě umění Technické university v Košicích (v ateliéru doc. Adama Szentpéteryho a prof. Rudolfa Sikoru).

Cena Oskára Čepana, vítěz Strabag Artaward International), zastoupen v soukromých i veřejných sbírkách.

About the work

Ján Vasilko for 100 pcs

Ján Vasilko belongs to a distinctive generation of painters who entered the Slovak art scene in the first decade of the 21st century. In his work, he employs the aesthetics of technical documentation, the principles of visual communication, and the possibilities offered by digital and graphic tools.

The artist consciously operates on a detached, "pre-set" plane of prefabricated forms and shapes. These elements allow him to create a model world of associations without sliding into pathos or expressive exaltation. The chosen approach functions as a filter for emotions—these remain hidden behind a cultivated and seemingly rational visual language, which Vasilko nevertheless handles in a deliberately unconventional way and with a subtle sense of tension.
