Krištof Kintera (*1973) is one of the most prominent personalities of contemporary Czech art. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he went through the studios of Jiří Lindovský, Aleš Veselý, Michael Bielický and Milan Knížák, and subsequently graduated from the prestigious Rijksakad in Amsterdam.

His work combines black humor, irony and a critical view of today's world. He works with found objects and industrial materials that transform into kinetic sculptures, objects and monumental installations. Topics such as consumerism, ecological burden or absurdity of contemporary life turn into a work that are visually attractive and still have a clear message.

Kintera is the author of the Site-Specific installation series in public space. The iconic projects include a monument of speaking lamps or the newly emerging light garden "Light Removes Darkness" under the Dvorecký Bridge in Prague. He regularly exhibits at home and abroad, solo, for example, in the Tinguely Museum in Basel, Kunsthal Rotterdam, Rudolfinum Gallery (Nervous Trees, 2017), or in Dox, where he introduced a large installation of How Can I Help you in 2023?

His works are part of leading Czech and foreign collections and Krištof Kintera is considered one of the most influential contemporary Czech artists, whose work is fundamentally influenced by the perception of contemporary art in the international context.
