Eye-eye-eye in art 1900-2025

Museum Kampa U Sovových mlýnů 503/2, Praha 1

See them a miracle. Seeing means knowing the eye we identify with knowledge. For example, we say: what the eyes do not see, the heart does not hurt. The eye appears to be the gate that the outside world penetrates. The eye is a significant communication channel, a window into the soul, an imagination portal. The eye adopts the symbolism of the guard, control. We, on the way to work, in the shop and through our own electronic devices, we know about it.

Artists perceive the eye like doors, a mirror type, the motif of transition to other dimensions. We know long ago about the omniscient eye of the lens, the cinemas like to name the eye and see them as a tunnel into the world. The eyes cannot be escaped. In the painting, object, video or wash on paper you will see treasures from the collections of the Museum, accompanied by loans of institutions, private collectors and authors.

These include František Kupka, Salvador Dalí, Man Ray, Andy Warhol, André Derein, Jan Zrzavý, Toyen, František Muzika, Mikuláš Medek, Květa Válová, Dalibor Chatrný, Adriena Šimotová, Karel Pauzer, Karel Nepraš, Milan Knížák, Milan Kunc, Jiří David Fex, Milan Cais, Josef Bolf, Krištof Kintera, Masker, Jaroslav Vožniak, Pavel Nešleha, Milan Cais, Václav Chochola, Jindřich Štyrský, Václav Zykmund, Václav Tikal, Jaromir Funke, Emila Medková, Josef Dumek Adamec, Diana Winklerová, Jan Hísek, Luboš Pláš, Rudolf Adamek, Anežka Hošková, Jiří Černický, Björn Steinz, Matyáš Maláč, Miloš Ševčík, Naďa Plíšková, Zdenka Hušková, Vladimir Houdek, Nik Timkova, Jan Konůpek, Radka Bodzewicz Barbora Šlapetová, Josef Bolf, Míla Preslová, Magdalena Clover, Daniela Mikulášková, Gabina Fárová, Libor Fára, Václav Stratil, Lenka Klodová, Adam Štech, Ladislav Zív, František Hudeček, Peter Rónai, Michael Rittstein.
