Adam Štech for 100pcs

"I often work with quotation, use different styles and various paintings from art history. I often work with the motifs of personal life, but at the same time I also depict people from public space. Portraits are probably the most important topic for me.

The portrait of Václav Havel was such an initiation thing for me. It was my first portrait of a politician and it was the beginning of a stage for me, in which I started to focus on specific persons even from the political world. Václav Havel is a symbol for me, it is primarily a nostalgic memory and it was also a certain definition. Because at the time I started working on his portrait, Milos Zeman was at the Castle. "
