Matěj Lipavský (1985, Prague)

Matěj Lipavský is a sensitive creator who transforms the moments of light and conventional landscapes into poetic painting. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (2004–2010) led by Jiří Sopek and completed an internship with the sculptor Jindřich Zeithamml. He lives and creates in Prague, regularly exhibits independently and group in leading Czech galleries.

Its painting is characterized by a selection of landscape fragment, a strong sense of light and a fine manuscript that oscillates between a sharp recording and melting with the atmosphere. Lipava often seeks a balance between the structure of the composition and its poetic blur, calm perception of space and the urgency of the moment.

In addition to art, he is also an published poet and illustrator, awarded, for example, the Award of the Hollar Award for Book Illustrations.
