The nearly two-hundred-year-old technique of cyanotype opens a new direction in the work of Czech abstract painter Jakub Sýkora, whose practice has explored the systemic logic of geometry for the past twenty years.
The exhibition presents two parallel lines: new acrylic paintings constructed from modular forms and precisely calibrated spatial shifts, and experimental cyanotypes on glass and canvas, shaped by the interaction of exposure, time, surface, and edge.
These directions do not mirror each other, but rather investigate how visual order can emerge when the author's intent meets the material agency of the medium — what forms are possible when composition and process share authority?
