Kristína Bukovčáková (born 1991) began to study the painting at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica (2011 - 2015, prof. Jan Kudlička and Rastislav form) and completed the study at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague (2015 - 2018, Jiří David and Milan Salák).

Kristýna Bukovčáková's painting has matured from a light and sketchy manuscript into detailed sophisticated Airbrush paintings, which continue to beat and grow into the form of painting buildings in impressive sculptural frames. The ephemeral moments, specific personal perceptions and unstoppable transformations of the world project through a filter of boundless imagination into intense superrealist visions, crowded with live and acting organic material, mass and structures. These pictorial oasis can provide dreaming haven from the load of everyday life, for anyone who needs it.

Bukovčáková is established on the Czech and Slovak art scene, and she graduated in Poland. She has had solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad, she is a laureate of several artistic awards (painting of the year 2015 - 2nd place and 2016 - 1 place.

Work: Hiding Place, 2023, acrylic on canvas, 120 x 90 cm
Prvišenka / Petrklíč, the first of the annual spring flowers, levitates over the turbulent and destroying river, in the center of the image of the image called Hiding Place. Although it is uprooted itself and without a chance in the foreseeable future to safely land and restore the natural state of its being, as a great mother provides refuge and a protective connection for the hood of the butterfly, "who tries to survive in a quiet place so that he can reach the next phase of his life."

Kristína Bukovčáková for 100pcs

My works deal with the environmental crisis, the crisis of society, the crisis of our generation, which found that there is a problem to solve, but we do not know how. In my paintings, this appears in symbols that I depict with fragile plants, fragile insects, some dying fruit that, with some grotesque smiles, shows that something is happening and that we should think about it.

The Hiding Place image was just after I moved to the countryside, where a primrose was grown in front of my studio, hiding a hood that seeks to survive and grow into a butterfly or insects to be. It is a display that elsewhere would be in danger if they were in the soil because one lurks everywhere and can kill it. Next to the depiction of the root of a primrose that sinks into such a river, which has created a paint with color and is a representation of the toxicity of groundwater and rivers.
