Erik Šille is one of the most prominent personalities of Central European painting, one of the most sought -after authors of contemporary Slovak painting. In 2000–2006 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava in the studio of prof. Ivana Csudaie and still works as a teacher there.

His paintings are based on digital and pop -cultural aesthetics - comics, computer games or advertising symbols - which are transformed into a clearly recognizable manuscript. But colorful, at first glance, playful compositions often bear sharp criticism of consumerism, globalization and contemporary society and puts the viewer before the contrast between the appealing visual facade and the darker themes.

Since 2004, his works regularly appear at prestigious exhibitions at home and abroad. He had solo exhibitions in Bratislava (eg Kunsthalle), Japan, Austria or Brno; His works were part of exhibition festivals such as Prague Biennale, Zero Years or exhibitions in Berlin or the Vienna Gallery Moya. He holds significant awards - the Tatra Bank Foundation Award (2010), the winner of the VÚB Maľba of the Year (2009). Erika Šille works in the collections of the Slovak National Gallery, the European Parliament and leading private collectors.

Erik Šille for 100pcs

"I focus primarily on hard edge painting, ie painting sharp edges. I try to map and reflect contemporary society, its defects, whether social, cultural, or any other. And I show them in loud toxic colors.

The Všetci image against Všetky originated from the song of the German band DAF, Alle Gegen Alle. It is an allegory of emptiness, where two ships float characters who do not look at each other. It's a story about individualism and nothing. ”
