Jan Vytiska (*1985) is a peculiar painter and alternative musician (Body of Pain). It comes from Rožnov pod Radhoštěm and the Silesian folklore in contrast to the current B, culture and its own mythology, its work significantly frames. He studied in the studio of Jiří Surůvka (Department of Intermedia) at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava in Ostrava. He presented his work in the framework of independent and institutional scenes throughout the Czech Republic and abroad. For example, at the Center of Contemporary Art DOX, the House of Arts in Opava, Wannieck Gallery in Brno, but also in the cultForm Alte Pose in Düsseldorf or Museum Național de Arti al României in Bucharest.
Do you remember a black hour? Sitting in the dark and narration of ghost stories, closeness and at the same time the desire to experience something a little scary. It was a traditional form of sharing that was created long ago by B -horror movie horror movies. Led by a taste of look into the eyes, not to squeeze it somewhere outside the field of vision, as we are used to in our would -be smooth culture. The Death of Jan Vyciska dressed in a folk -hungry costume moving on a full gas on a motorcycle is a bit of a bridge of black watches and today's accelerated times when we may have to afford to stop and enjoy together or in the dark for a while. He worried a little and at the same time feels alive.

Jan Vytiska for 100pcs
I have been processing a folk -like topic in the paintings for almost twenty years. It is a reflection of reality and mirroring in a fictional world - "good and evil". It is a postmodern mix that refers to various fairy tales, movies, etc.
The image is called Motorhead and it is actually the speed. It is supposed to be a peasant who goes on a motorcycle that is not visible there. The bikers wear scarves with skulls, so I liked to make a peasant that would be the skull with a scarf. Just forums.
