Karel Štědrý (1985) in 2003 - 2010 graduated in Prague. He co -founded the art groups Fig, Clan and most recently the company, together with other leading Czech artists who joined the scene in the first decade of the 21st century. He is a laureate of the ARSKONTAKT price. A very active exhibiting painter is sought after by Czech and foreign institutions and collectors. His works were repeatedly represented and successfully auctioned at the auctions of the Sotheby's Sunwear Auction Hall.

One of the most important contemporary representatives of geometric abstraction is constantly developing and moving its manuscript. The courageous colorism can alternate with images that it creates exclusively using a black, self -prepared charcoal. It is not just for sharp edges, as in the case of Tetris 0 - which hung in Jerusalem and in our country successfully sold out as a limited edition of prints. In the work of Botanica we can still stick to the geometric concept, but it gains a spontaneous and spontaneous dimension. The combination of spray and pastel colors shows a plant motif. "It's a natural secret, some structures that appear outside the city or outside some urban culture, so they awaken some special imagination that is in that nature or landscape."

My approach to art is that I try to find an original visual appearance that will express my personal view of living reality, will be authentic and will be in the artistic environment as an original manifestation with a specific style.

Botanica is a cycle based on the connection of several ways of my expression - visual discoveries, or styles that I wanted to try if they work together. For example, I use the drawing technology of the pastel on an uncontrolled canvas, stricter geometric forms in combination with more organic stylization, based on natural motifs, or floral aesthetics.
