Veronika Holcová (b. Work: Inuit folk dance, 2016, oil on paper, 76 x 56 cm

Veronika Holcová sees the image as a certain alchemical constellation that can be found and found in the boundary of conscious creation and controlled coincidence. He works on the one hand with color structures, on the other with drawing associations. Mutual intertwining and replenishing these expressive procedures creates a dreamy environment in which the author places as jewelry, human and animal executives.

The work of Inuit folk dance reflects the author's experiences in a long -term stay in Canada, where she met with cultural and artistic manifestations of Inuit (inhabitants of the northernmost areas of America, Eskimo). The vortex of dance turns into a dream ornament that carries the viewer into the landscapes of the eternally frozen country, to the places of permafrost, where living means to fight for life and to defend it every day in inhospitable, often cruel nature.

Veronika Holcová for 100pcs

My painting is based on a classic painting approach. My work contains both paintings on canvas and paper work, which I paint with a brush directly with oil paints.

This painting on paper is a great and beautiful memory for me when I lived in Canada. And for me it is a strong connection with both the Canadian country and the "First Nations". The drawing looks like an embroidery that the native residents embroidered on their suits.
