Adam Štech lives and works in Prague. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (2001-2008) in the studios of painting near Jiří Sopek and Vladimír Skrepl. In 2004 he won the Jiří Sopek Academy of Sciences Prize and in 2011 he became Laureate 4. Critics Awards for young painting awarded by the Association of Art Critics and theorists of the Czech Republic. The work of Adam Štech is represented in many Czech and foreign private and public collections. In recent years, he has prepared independent exhibitions for DSC Gallery and Gallery of Václav Špála in Prague or the Center for Contemporary Art DOX, from foreign institutions, let us mention his presentation in Ascaso Gallery in Miami or Prague House.

At 100pcs.cz he sold his first edition with a portrait of Václav Havel.

Adam Štech for 100pcs

I often work with citations, use different styles and various paintings from art history. I often work with the motifs of personal life, but at the same time I also depict people from public space. Portraits are currently the most important topic for me.

Amy is my favorite singer. I play her at work, so it was actually a matter of time before I started painting it.
