About the work

“Chujems Dzikie Węże” - proclaims an old street slogan, which inadvertently recalls when I look at Mark Rachwalik's paintings. This motto had a significant impact on the last generation of the population boom at the age of 90. The scenes from the alternative reality attracted by the hair in Mark Rachwalik's paintings are a brilliant combination of painting technology and extraordinary humor. Particularly interesting is the precision in the creation of these micro -worlds, consciously used kitsch - ie camp - and the detail of his work, which introduces the viewer into a slight astonishment. Where does it come from? Rachwalika brings us to the mycelium of the pop culture subconscious, where all the garden statues, toadstools, motorcycles and sleek satanic goats are born.
