Martina Rötling (1987) focuses primarily on figurative painting, through which she critically analyzes the female experience in the context of digital media. He has long been working with the potential of subversion within the female act that sets in authentic female experience. In her submission, the act becomes an instrument of personal liberation and questioning traditional power structures - he takes control of the body and his representation into his own hands.
She graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Academy of Arts in Banská Bystrica and graduated from Accademia di Belle Arti in Lecce, Italy. Her works were presented at exhibitions in France, Belgium, Italy, Colombia, Germany, Israel, Switzerland and Bulgaria. In recent years, for example, she has exhibited in the Czech Cultural Institute in Paris, Slovak Institute in Berlin and Jerusalem, Boutros Gallery in Antwerp or DEPOO Gallery in Sofia. She is the Martin Benka laureate for painting (2023) and the finalist of the prestigious Maľbo Year (2013) competition. She has repeatedly worked in the Paris Cité des Arts, as well as in Antwerp or Sofia. He lives and works in Antwerp.
